Here’s How Netflix’s New Watch Timer Feature Will Work | Thailand Tatler

We all know that feeling of heavy eyelids while trying to stay awake during a Netflix marathon or binge late at night. Whether it’s a feel-good series, crime dramas or psychological thriller shows, Netflix is known for addictive serial content; once you start, it’s hard to pause to resume on another day. If this basically describes your relationship with the streaming platform, then Netlix’s newest feature Watch Timer may be of interest to you.

Say you’re about to watch Friends at the end of the day, but it’s 11pm and you really don’t want to be up past midnight. You can choose amongst four timing options: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes or the end of the episode. Once the time limit approaches, your Netflix session will end automatically.

This new function is ideal for those who want to take better control of their sleeping habits or even parents who want to limit their children’s streaming. Although the new timer feature is currently limited to Android users, Netflix is planning to roll it out on iOS and maybe Smart TVs in the near future. For now, lucky Android users can try Watch Timer by following the direction below:

1. Choose and play a TV show or movie on your mobile device.2. In the upper right corner, tap on the clock icon labelled Timer.

3. Select the time slot for when you want to stop watching the show or movie.
