On a sultry morning, the Tatler Thailand team gathered at Checkmate Horse Club in Pathum Thani where cover star and Thailand national equestrian team rider Jaruporn Limpichati regularly hones her riding skills.
The club, established by Jaruporn’s equestrian coach, Dhewin Manathanya, offered the perfect location for our photoshoot, an expansive setting ideal for social distancing but one in which Jaruporn could feel at home with her horses.
For the shoot, Jaruporn, or Sai, wore apparel from the collection of Thai brand Theatre, as well as her own riding outfits, and while she admitted posing for magazine images was new to her, she quickly got the hang of it. In fact, the shoot became something of a relaxed guided tour as she explained the facilities and told stories of her early riding experiences. As the day progressed we visited the riding arena and stables, where we learned that the horses were also undergoing quarantine to prevent them from being infected by the African horse sickness virus which has spread among these animals in Thailand.
