Taped mellow melodies including Sinatra and other mid-20th century crooning icons blend well with the softly-lit ambience. The excellent cuisine here has been delighting patrons for decades.
WHAT TO ORDER? Caesar salad is always a good opening and here it is topped with a slice of crispy parma ham. Also fabulous is charred broccolini with two soft-boiled quail eggs, a sprinkling of quinoa and some truffle essence. Don’t miss the incredible Japanese sea bass, a large, stunningly grilled boneless fish served with mild cooked garlic. The perfect signature dish, Jack Creek tenderloin, has a marble score of 5 and comes with cooked garlic and baby sweetcorn. Creamed spinach with parmesan pine nut chips makes a good, generous side. For fun, choose the innocuously named smith for dessert, which mixes green apple cream, hazelnut paste, almond biscuits and bourbon into a mousse, and arrives with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.
