Editor's Picks: Asia-Inspired Table Set, Lit Robots And More | Thailand Tatler

A Singapore-based design label, Ong Shunmugam recently launched a tableware collection that snatched my attention by its name: Suvarnabumi. A tribute to Asia as a whole, the collection highlights elements of so many cultures from Japan and Thailand to China, Malay and even more. It’s the perfect table set for those who find themselves a bit ‘culturally confused’ but loving it like me. The tablewares highlight a blue and white China colour palette and also includes linen napkins and placemats. And as if I weren’t sold on the collection already, clever branding extends to the individual items in the set as well. Find plates and bowls named Slow Loris or Rhinoceros Hornbill—animals that we need to preserve and protect.

The easiest present to get someone who values or is in need of self-care this Christmas is Panpuri’s festive gift sets. Ranging from 1,700 to 6,900 baht, Panpuri offers four different types of gift sets this year—Revive Super Happy Hair Day, Nourish Clean on Me Duo, Lotus Defense Ultimate Glow Duo and Arunayouth Revive Skin Set—for hair, body, complexion and anti-ageing needs, respectively. Anyone can use a home-spa set from one of the best organic beauty brands in the world, even your hubby. As a plus, each set comes charmingly gift-wrapped in a deluxe Christmas palette of red, green and gold.

Temperature drops for some reason trigger a need in me to switch my perfumes from the usual sweeter or spicier numbers to floral. I guess it’s because it feels less like living in the swelty tropics these days and more like living in an environment where four seasons are a reality. In any case, I’ve recently been donning Chloe’s Atelier Des Fleurs collection in scents Herba Mimosa and Neroli, if anyone has noticed. There are a total of nine floral scents in the line, including what is probably the most popular Rosa Damascena (hypothesising here), but I felt that these two herbs suited me best.

Available at your favourite multibrand variety shop in Bangkok, Another Story, Belgian interior decoration brand Chehoma has a few pieces that are absolutely perfect for the sci-fi nerd in your life (and that can include yourself). Find astronautical figures and cute lamps shaped as robots and rocketships that’ll add a touch of intergalactic wonder to your room.
