From Cindy Crawford to Adriana Lima, Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner to Florence Pugh, celebrity make-up artist Naoko Scintu has sent many a star down the red carpet looking absolutely flawless.Â
We caught up with her to find out what beauty products she can’t live without, and what she’s working on next.Â
Why do you love make-up?
I’m very interested in the way make-up can transform a person. This really excites me, and I just love the idea of ‘perfecting’. It’s so satisfying when you make someone the best version of themselves.
Which women do you especially enjoy working with?
Cindy Crawford and Ashley Graham. Cindy was one of my idols when I was young, so working with her was just unbelievable. Ashley is an incredible person with great energy. And, of course, both are just so beautiful. They also have brains, and are funny, too.

What is your earliest memory of make-up?
Body painting my little sister with acrylic paints. I drew butterflies all over her face and body. It wouldn’t come out of her hair for days.
What can we expect from the beauty industry?
Definitely more diversity. I am working with models who are from every corner of the earth. Variety is a beautiful thing. Plus, make-up brands are catering for every skin tone now, more so than ever.
Tell us about your skincare regime.
It changes every day depending on how my skin looks and feels. I have regular facials, which keeps my skin acne-free. I use Skin Design London serums, and Omorovicza and Esse Skincare, to keep my face hydrated.
