The collection, called “Theory of Unraveled Grotesqueness”, is inspired by American Gothic literature, particularly Southern American Gothic—think Puritanism, Faulkner and just a little bit of witchcraft. As a brand which is also identified by clean lines, tailoring and minimal use of colours, ASV provides another chic and upscale iteration of spring and summer, this one inspired by the costume designs of two classic films, Death in Venice (1971) and The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). Traditional menswear patterns, such as double-breasted blazers, jumpsuits, trenchcoats and tuxedo shirts, are reimagined for the modern woman but also matched with feminine pieces like tiered tulle dresses and skirts.
