The photoshoot for the cover of this issue took place at the award-winning boutique hotel Shanghai Mansion in Chinatown. Our cover star, Vatanika Patamasingh na Ayudhya, creative director and founder of her eponymous clothes brand, arrived in the morning full of energy and excitement and obviously keen to talk about her collaboration on the design of a limited edition collection of luxury watches with Swiss manufacturer House of Franck Muller.

No stranger to lights, cameras and the general hustle and bustle of a photoshoot, the London College of Fashion graduate and online reality show host was a natural in front of the lens dazzling everyone present with her poses in elegant dresses from her own brand. The wonderfully appointed hotel offered a selection of exceptional photo backdrops and Vatanika and the team soon got into a rhythm as they moved between locations to get the images they wanted.

A true professional, the designer took little time between shots and only seemed to get distracted when laughing at jokes or making them herself. With shoots often running late into the day, her good humour and high spirits created an easy atmosphere that helped proceedings to finish in a timely fashion and all were happy to be done in time for lunch. The lady of the moment happily stayed afterwards to give us an interview touching on her brand and her latest foray into haute horology.
