Khao Introduces New Branch In Tonson Alley | Thailand Tatler

A marker of its continued success over six years, Khao Thai restaurant opens a second branch in the quietly cool Tonson Alley. The original Ekkamai venue a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, Khao is bringing its authentic Thai taste to the other side of town Located within a lush oasis and diplomatic neighbourhood, the second edition is accessible by foot from Chit Lom BTS station and offers plenty of parking spaces. The relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a casual lunch break but also a great option for more formal dinners or gatherings. Without the chef’s table available exclusively at the Ekkamai flagship, the new branch is equally serious about keeping up its star-studded reputation.

Starting with drinks, the beverage menu provides an array of refreshments, including mocktails, cold-pressed juice and herbal drinks. We highly recommend the watermelon and ginger juice with soda for the aromatic and fizzy kick, however, chef’s favourite smoothie, a blend of fruit and vegetables, is also great for tangy flavours and health benefits.

For starters, the Namphrik Khai Pu, or crab roe relish served with fresh herbs and vegetables, is an A-class choice. The dip is packed with delicious crab roe for seafood food lovers. An explosion of tastes and smell, the Mee Grob, or crispy rice noodles seasoned with sweet and sour sauce made with Chinese bitter orange zest, is another dish to have on your table.
