Avid cafe-hoppers in Bangkok will know that the scene here is constantly evolving. From the white-washed minimalist trend to poppy mustard yellow, we’re now entering the phase of wild, overgrown florals. For those looking to explore obscure and breathtaking floral-filled spots to have coffee and Insta-worth snapshots, we’ve gathered a short list for you to hit this weekend.
Baker x Florist
As you’d expect from the name, Baker x Florist gives you scrumptiously baked treats and an array of beautiful floral arrangements. Expect a cosy space channelling industrial and Moroccan vibes in a greenhouse-like environment. To make things more interesting, flowers are also incorporated into the menu—the fleur de cel gives you a blend of flower essence and dark chocolate while the baker plants hides a pie under a garden of cocoa earth and edible flower petals. You can even get a bouquet for yourself or your loved one here from the lovely flowerstand or pre-order in advance for something customised to your liking.
Maybe Flower & Cafe
Situated in a cute, modern space, Maybe Flower & Cafe takes the lighthearted, sweet route as opposed to the opulent and overflowing one when it comes to floral decor. With corners of hanging ferns, succulents and blooming flowers, there are plenty of spots for you to get your Insta-shot here. There’s a flower shop up front where they constantly restock on fresh flowers, especially hydrangeas and roses. Menu-wise, expect your both sweet and savoury pastries, and coffee. Get yourself a creme brulee and a Maybe On The Rocks—an americano served with milk ice cubes.
Too Good For You
If you’ve been on Instagram recently, you’ve probably seen the viral snaps of Too Good For You’s neon sign. A hidden cafe in the middle of Sathorn, the photogenic venue is an oasis atop an old office building. The elevator and narrow flight of stairs of the Mukda building leading up to the cafe may make you doubt that you’re on the right path, but trust us, you’ll eventually arrive at this breaktaking pink-washed space overgrown with florals. For floral drinks here, we recommend the pretty Violatte, a purple sweet potato latte topped off with cream cheese and colourful petals.
Floral Cafe At Napasorn
Located near among Bangkok’s most iconic flower market Pak Khlong Talard, this cafe disguises itself as a traditional flower and gardening shop. However, on the second floor is a cafe of fantastical wilderness. Find brick walls overgrown with foliage in a vintage loft accentuated by industrial decor and intricate chandeliers. Treat yourself to a chocolate raspberry rose cake or head further upstairs to marvel at some pretty cool taxidermy.
