Behind The Scenes: Naiyanobh Bhirombhakdi Is A Good Sport In All He Does | Thailand Tatler

For this month’s cover shoot, we gather at the recently opened Banyan Tree Residences Riverside Bangkok. Our cover star, Naiyanobh Bhirombhakdi, fourth generation member of the family behind the Boon Rawd brewing conglomerate and the company’s head of the CFO office, arrives full of energy and ready to get to work.

Boasting a lavish contemporary design and architecture, the riverside location provides a variety of stylish backdrops and Naiyanobh is at the head of the pack as we move from one setting to another. The 29-year-old executive, a former army officer and sports car racer in his younger days, is something of a dynamo and keen to get things done—although he shows commendable patience as our team works out shots and we are all made to wait on occasion by the day’s fickle weather.

Donning outfits from high fashion labels such as Hermes, Fendi, Dior and Bottega Veneta, Naiyanobh also rocks various limited-edition watches from Omega, including the Speedmaster Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Moonshine, which celebrates mankind’s first visit to the moon.

Despite carrying one of Thailand’s most prominent family names, the sports-loving executive is a laid-back fellow and his easy-going character and friendly demeanour help to make the day run smoothly for everyone. And although he admits to being a bit camera shy, he still manages to nail each shot with aplomb.

As the day wraps up, the budding philanthropist takes a moment to give us some insights on his responsibilities at Boon Rawd, the pressures of maintaining the company and family legacies, his role as president of the Cerebral Palsy Sports Association of Thailand and the pride he takes in seeing Thailand’s mentally disabled athletes perform for their country in the international arena.
