COVID-19 had sparked radical changes across the globe. State safety measures to curb the virus have resulted in a mass of business shutting down, leaving many workers unemployed. At the same time, the crisis highlighted the importance of certain groups of personnels more than ever. From medical staff to public transit workers, these front-line heroes are the ones keeping the country’s thin pulse beating. And for Marisa Chearavanont, these heroes deserve more for what they are sacrificing for us.Â

Back in April, our August cover lady kickstarted the Chef Cares project in an attempt to raise the morales of medical professionals. Joining forces with Kingdom’s 25 leading chefs, Marisa organised lunch for staff in hospitals, cheering them with fine-dine delivered in paper boxes. The attempt was well-received beyond expectations, as more and more kind-hearted chefs expressed desire to contribute to the cause. By the end of the second phase, 73 chefs had signed up to help and a total of 30,000 boxes were distributed to 17 hospitals and transportation workers in Bangkok and Phuket, after three months.
