Onitsuka Tiger is one of the oldest shoe companies in Japan, tracing its history back to the formation of Onitsuka Co, Ltd in 1949 when 32-year-old former military officer, Kihachiro Onitsuka, started his company with the hopes of raising post-war youth self-esteem through athletics.

Nowadays, the brand is at the forefront of most beloved sneaker producers with a loyal following amongst collectors and fashion icons alike. Always evolving with the times, Onitsuka Tiger has began to focus on creating shoes using eco-friendly materials while still straying true to its brand identity. Sustainable fashion is a movement and process of fostering change through products towards greater ecological integrity—this is exactly what Onitsuka Tiger is focusing on for their newest sneaker collection.

To contribute to a more sustainable world, Onitsuka Tiger has designed a new line called the Ecobember Pack. Made to fit your daily activities while remaining stylish, the Ecobember Pack shoe is intricately conceptualised for the eco-conscious consumer.

The uppers feature re-formed cow leather fibres (usually thrown away), while the surface is created with recycled leather with a special coating. In the interest of achieving a sustainable society, the materials have been chosen with environmental impact in mind. Thus, the sneaker also features recycled polyester shoelaces and organic cotton in the sock linings.

The series is available in three of Onitsuka Tiger’s most iconic models: GSMâ„¢, TIGER CORSAIRâ„¢ and MEXICO 66™—all of which come in white. So if you’re looking for your new go-to pair and to support the environment at the same time, Onitsuka Tiger gives you that opportunity with the Ecobember Pack.
