Stella McCartney And Yoshitomo Nara Collaborate For A Genderless Fashion Capsule | Thailand Tatler

Stella McCartney presents the Shared Spring/Summer 2021 collection together with the legendary Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara. Fusing his rebelliousness with her activistic nature, Stella is standing alongside the rising progressive generation with this upcoming post-gender capsule.

The collection highlights urban pieces and laid-back luxury while featuring Nara’s signature illustration of the girl with fierce eyes. This will be the first time the artist is engaged in a fashion collaboration, and his work will fully set the collection’s mood and tone. Pieces include collectable ready-to-wear attires and accessories like matching graphic silk sets and organic cotton tops with Nara’s girl illustration and call-up phrases like ‘We are punks’, ‘Change the history’ and ‘Don’t waste another day’. While the youthful style brings a freshness to the brand, it aligns very well with Stella’s Old Bond Street (OBS) logo. The collection bridges together art, subculture and street culture and celebrates non-conformity, freedom of thought and individuality.

Stella’s Savile Row tailoring is tweaked into bolder and loose-fitting silhouettes. Double-breasted blazers in traceable wool are worn with cargo trousers, while the British trenchcoats are animated with striped details and the Old Bond Street logo in white. New in the Shared Spring/Summer 2021 collection are comfy hoodies and joggers with logo taping. More casual comfort can be found in sleeveless T-shirts, Bermuda shorts and colourful socks, while vegan leather trousers and shorts convey positivity in shades of cream and baby blue.

The Stella Shared SS21 is the most environmentally conscious collection to date with the use of organic cotton, forest-friendly viscose, recycled cashmere and traceable wool.
