Cloudbusting: Designer Shone Puipia Exhibits With Three Other Artists | Thailand Tatler

Up and coming young designer Shone Puipia invites you to a spunky group exhibition with three other collaborators. On display until November 14, Cloudbusting is an installation at Soi Sa:m in Suan Phlu presenting the brand’s 2020 collection alongside the expressions of Montis Songsombat, Naraphat Sakarthornsap and edgy youth collective IWANNABANGKOK©. Naraphat’s The Cage (No.2), IWANNABANGKOK© ‘s short film A Beautiful Life and Montis’ Untitled triptych of photographs all express the artists’ time during quarantine this year. Here’s a closer look at each of the parts of Cloudbusting.

Led by Adisak Jirasakkasem and Supakorn Buaruan, this teenage catalogues presents a musical short film called A Beautiful Life. Basing on a true story about seven girls crammed inside a tiny flat, this tongue-in-cheek piece shows how much these ladies are willing to sacrifice just to afford Shone Puipia’s latest collection. The talents featured include ATT19’s Mook Attakanwong, Hong Yun Kang, Jakkawan Yokin, Nalin Satearrujikanon, Nazer Bennui, Samita Wang and Wongbaworn Pansuwan.

A Thai photographer based in New York, Montis Songsombat explores the pursuit of beauty through a series of three photographs. The model, Prim Patanasiri, represents those who strive for beauty while the cavernous location suggests how curiosity and the desire to explore its mysteries transcend the initial intention to search for beauty.
