As an ode to one of the most celebrated gangster films of all time, Jacob & Co has entered in collaboration with Universal Brand Development to introduce the latest watch under the Opera collection, the Opera Scarface. Encapsulated within a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal is the microcosm of Scarface. At the centre of the movement is the 18K rose gold “The World Is Yours” globe, taken straight from the entrance hall of Tony Fontana’s Miami mansion. The signature two-cylinder music box at 3 and 9 o’clock features an 18K gold black lacquered piano and the 18K gold Scarface logo nameplate. Press the pusher at 10 o’clock and the 120-note music box will play the iconic soundtrack Bolivia by Giorgio Moroder as the entire dial rotates 120 degrees. Despite the movement, the time display stays in the 12/6 position thanks to a patented differential system.

Powering the timepiece is the brand’s unique triple-axis tourbillon movement. The calibre is comprised of 658 individual parts making an ultra-complex movement with a tourbillion that turns in 24 seconds on one axis, eight seconds on the second axis and 71 seconds on the third. With two separate power reserves for the movement and the music box, the watch has a power reserve of 42 hours, and the tune can be played three times before having to be winded once again.
