When Karl Lagerfeld died in February this year, the world lost one of the greatest, most prolific fashion designers and powerful creatives in modern history. On September 10, Rizzoli will publish Lagerfeld: The Chanel Shows—a retrospective of ten years of “Chanel’s most influential fashion shows” through the lens of British photographer Simon Procter, a longtime Lagerfeld collaborator.
Lagerfeld: The Chanel Shows by Simon Procter will be published by Rizzoli on September 10, 2019
The large, immersive picture-book format of the tome captures the spirit and energy of Lagerfeld’s legendary hot-ticket fashion shows. “Procter visually re-creates the epic sets—from a luscious forest scene to a rocket launch—combining multiple photographs to illustrate in a single image the many perspectives of the intense but fleeting spectacle,” according to the bookseller. The book also includes never-before-seen backstage candids of Lagerfeld and models backstage.
