The 71st Annual Cannes Film Festival opened earlier this week on Tuesday, May 8, with the premiere of Iranian director Asghar Farhadi’s psychological thriller Todos Lo Saben, or Everybody Knows.  Fans and paparazzi gathered around the prestigious Cannes red carpet, hoping for a good view to world’s top movie stars, filmmakers and other industry talents. As the VIPs arrived in full glamour, the cameras went off in a frenzy with flashes bouncing off some of the stars’ stunning ensemble of high jewellery accessories.

As an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, Chopard dressed many of this year’s honored guests, including Cannes Film Festival Jury President Cate Blanchett and Thailand’s own Araya Hargate. Here are some of the bedazzling red carpet looks from the premiere.

Cate Blanchett

Occupying the prestigious role of Cannes Film Festival Jury president this year, Cate Blanchett showcased  an ornate pair of yellow sapphire, tsavorite and garnet earrings in twisted, organic form, from Chopard’s Red Carpet Collection. The Hollywood actress also wore a rose gold ring from the Temptations Collection, which highlighted oval tanzanite, spessartine garnet, and orange and blue sapphire gemstones. Only the most exquisite for the chief.

Julianne Moore

Classic elegance suits Julianne Moore so well. The American actress was radiant on the Cannes red carpet in a timeless red dress and a chain of diamond encrusted links, from the High Jewellery Collection.

Khadja Nin

A member of the 71st Annual Cannes Film festival Jury, singer Khadja Nin‘s choice of pear-shaped diamond earrings from the High Jewellery Collection both pops and complements her wonderfully vibrant red carpet look feauring infinite geometric patterns. The Burundian native decided to keep her neck bare—a great choice—wearing just one more piece of Chopard High Jewellery on her finger.

Isabelle Adjani

Arriving in a crossover style of 80s female punk rock and ethereal forrest nymph, French actress Isabelle Adjani accented her look with Chopard jewellery that presented the same organic vibes: a white and rose gold layered necklace featuring multicoloured diamond and sapphire bracelets on each wrist.

Georgia May Jagger

The apple not straying far from the tree, model Georgia May Jagger, daugther of Mick Jagger, managed to make her Chopard red carpet look one that was rock n’ roll by matching her sleek black dress and layered blonde waves with an edgy, nevertheless hefty, 93-carat diamond cuff and 5-carat ice on her finger—both from the High Jewellery Collection. Despite the weight in diamonds, the 26-year-old made it look easy and effortless.

Celina Jade

Actress Celina Jade went with a look of classic elegance on the red carpet, matching a side-swept hairdo, red lips and a gorgeously draping white dress with a string of diamond earrings from the Green Carpet Collection. The American-Hong Kong actress also wore a 50-carat diamond cuff and diamond rings from the High Jewellery Collection.

Araya Hargate

Our very own Araya Hargate turned heads at the Cannes premiere in a red caped gown and a shining set from the High Jewellery Collection. The Thai actress and new mum to twins this year wore a pair of 27-carat diamond earrings, a 47-carat diamond bracelet and a diamond ring higlighting one magnificent South Sea Pearl.

Zhao Tao

Dangling from Chinese actress Zhao Tao‘s ears on the red carpet was a stunning pair of white gold, diamond and cushion shaped sapphire earrings from the Precious Chopard Collection. Tao, who is considered to be the fifth-wealthiest Singaporean billionaire, also wore a ring from the High Jewellery Collection that featured cushion shaped tanzanite and diamonds on white gold.

Liao Fan

Chinese actor Liao Fan highlighted Chopard on the Cannes red carpet in the form of a LUC Heritage Grand Cru watch, which features a black dial and an 18-carat white gold case set with trapeze and baguette cut diamonds.
