Nespresso has launched the second year of its reviving origins initiative aimed at re-establishing lost coffees from regions like Zimbabwe, Colombia and Uganda, where conflict, economic hardship and environmental disasters have blunted growth. The programme aims to revive local coffee economies as well as to preserve the future of some of the world’s rarest beans. The Athenee Hotel’s Rain Tree cafe has re-opened with a novel rolling buffet concept together with a chef-to-table cooking trolley service, live stations and a new luxury weekend brunch. With the buffet set up to new safety standards, hot and cold dishes and desserts will be served from trolleys and from a la minute service to tables. The restaurant opens Thursday to Sunday from noon-2:30pm for lunch and 6pm-10:30pm for dinner. Lunch buffets are Thursday and Friday at 1,300 baht and dinner buffets are Thursday to Sunday at 1,700 baht. Special seafood buffets are held on Friday and Saturday at 1,900 baht.
