Transport yourself to the nocturnal streets of Japan at Up & Above Restaurant every Saturday evening as executive chef Sebastian Hoogerwerf and master chef Shigeru Hagiwara of the star-studded Yamazato restaurant join forces to serve the Yatai & Izakaya Night in all-you-can-eat style. Yatai are street-side, mobile food stalls in Japan selling simple meals like noodles and oden. Izakaya, on the other hand, is a casual bar and restaurant where friends gather to eat and drink. Bringing the two together, the Okura is inviting eager diners to experience the Japanese way of unwinding after a week’s hard work.
The buffet features bara chirashi (assorted raw seafood bowl), sashimi, yakitori, takoyaki and okonomiyaki. More choices include udon with onsen egg, oden soup and hot smoked salmon donburi. There is also a cooking station serving tonkatsu made a la minute. The food line-up does not end there. On ice are fresh lobster, mussels, razor clams, pawns and oysters. Another special dish you cannot miss is the pan-seared foie gras and balsamic reduction.
Save room for desserts because the homemade ice cream station is ready to be enjoyed with more sweet delights like taiyaki and Hokkaido cheesecake. Not looking forward to a sober Saturday night? Add on a free-flow beverage package to enjoy draft beer, curated drinks and wine.
