A treat for curious epicureans, Keller on Suan Phlu offers diners a fine dining experience built on a foundation of classic techniques with modern presentation. The former chef of Water Library Chamchuri, Mirco Keller has now opened his own European cuisine restaurant on Suan Phlu, eliciting excitement from those who have followed his inventions and emphasis on detail since Water Library.
Nestled in a colonial-style house, atmosphere-wise, Keller exudes soft warm tones with wooden tables tops, champagne-coloured accents, pink sofas and mid-century hanging pendant lamps. It’s really the perfect ambience for chef Keller’s embracing cuisine.
The first thing you will notice once service starts is that the food is equal parts tradition and modern. The warmth of comforting European classics meets elegant presentation and modern finesse. Serving both a la carte items and the Keller Signature Menu, dishes are intriguing and innovative, both in the description and in flavour.
Amongst the most outstanding dishes, you will find the Berliner Senfei served with smoked potato, pickled beetroot and Oscitra caviar and the Chilean sea bass served with asparagus, shimeji mushrooms, German potato dumplings and a perfectly creamy Chive-velvet sauce. Other highlights include the Canadian Lobster with cauliflowers, curry grape and Malnad sauce and the fish mousse, Hamachi, trout roe, prawn chips and lemon vinaigrette.
