Word on the street is that Bar.Yard is where the cool kids are all hanging out nowadays. Located on the 40th floor of the new Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok in Langsuan, this new, tikki-themed rooftop bar brings the backyard BBQ vibe but with elevated twists. Designed by Hassell studio, Bar.Yard’s lush space is blessedly sunkissed in the daytime. As night falls, however, the rooftop party turns up the beat against the glittering cityscape of the Lumpini area.
Bar.Yard’s dictionary of cocktail-centric drinks is crafted by beverage and bar manager Aron J Feder. Sampling from at least 27 varieties of Thai pineapples, every one of Bar.Yard’s drinks holds captivating narratives. The Queens Group Pineapple, for instance, is a tequila-based drink blended with zesty lime, pink grapefruit, apple brandy and the juice of Queens Group pineapple from Phuket, known for its honeyed flavour profile. Another signature is The Brown Coconut, which combines smoky mezcal, sweet-smelling toasted Thai coconut and earthy hazelnut. Apart from the cocktails, selections of international craft beers, wines and champagne await.
