Inspired by the artwork in Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse comic books from the 80s, the new collection features Mickey’s hot-headed best friend, Donald Duck and his triplet nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. Louis Vuitton’s SS21 Men’s Collection, Message in a Bottle, features Virgil Abloh’s ‘The Adventures of Zoooom with Friends’ original cartoon characters. The designer has imagined a virtual voyage across the world that begins at Louis Vuitton’s ancestral home in Asnières, outside of Paris, where movers are loading shipping containers onto a barge that will sail down the Seine River. A colourful crew of characters hide as stowaways on this vessel, and through their adventures, Virgil’s ongoing theme of boyhood manifests itself in the resulting garments and accessories.
