Developers have long debated the criteria for the best multi-generational residence, a space in which designed living areas suit both families and the lifestyle needs of those who remain single so that they can co-habit in security and comfort. Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion, sited on a verdant bend of the Chao Phraya River, is the latest flagship offering by leading developer AP (Thailand) to take its inspiration from the generations.
Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion incorporates ground-breaking designs in the condominium’s common areas, harmoniously blending functions for shared lifestyle interests across the family, all in the secure privacy of a prime location beside Bangkok’s famous River of Kings.  Â
To ensure that the project offered a unique model for multi-generational living, the developer of Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion began with a profound interpretation of the relationship dynamics and needs of a multi-generational urban family. Clusters of functions were conceptualised for the design of a luxury gated community where everyone grows together in an extraordinary society. Areas were planned to support the shared activities of resident groups through a series of individual pavilions in different sizes and locations, sited to suit the lifestyle rhythms of the day.
Greeting the visitor at Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion is a verdant court with a comfortable corner—a simple yet elegant communal area that gives way to a complex of three massive clear-glass pavilions that are connected together in layers. The functional areas are perfectly divided into family and private sections that encompass the Study Pavillion, a space that supports one-one-one or group learning activities, the Social Pavillion, a space for social gatherings or super exclusive partying with a separate pantry for food and beverage preparation, and the Reading Pavillion, ideal for quiet contemplation of the day’s newspapers or an important business appointment.
The front of the pavilion complex is designed to be open. It offers views of green areas such as the tree boundary, carefully selected by AP to include a range of flora that will purify the air inside the project, and the Gated Courtyard, an open-air courtyard with a multi-tier landscape designed for children to explore. Here energetic youngsters can burn off energy and let their imaginations run free in a secure playground built for fun, but always within view of their guardians. This frees children to discover nature and interact with one another and it frees adults from worry about their young charges. The Free Play area, an elevated section designed for children to play under large rain trees, is a particularly cool and breezy spot that will be enjoyed by people of all ages. A path way is provided for direct access to the residential complex where an extraordinary experience and high level of privacy are awaiting.
The residential complex is at the heart of Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion. It features minimalist classic architecture that reflects a timeless, luxurious simplicity. The 44-storey building looks out over a panoramic sweep of a bend in the Chao Phraya River, giving magnificent picture postcard perspectives. If residents really want to feel like getting back to nature, they can enjoy the verdant views from the lush confines of the shaded Secret Garden at the 9th floor.Â
Floors 42-44 comprise a rooftop facility that has been divided into indoor and outdoor sections to cater to the interests of different age ranges, so everyone can enjoy quality time together. The space is ideal for both families with small children and extended families and their friends. The Sky Lounge in the indoor section and the Sky Terrace in the outdoor section, for example, look out as far as the eye can see and make great spots for exclusive social gatherings. There is also a semi-outdoor lounge with a multi-purpose conference room. Here too the Play Space for children allows parents to keep their children under watch at worry-free range, while enjoying their own time.
Floors 43 and 44 of the project are designed for family activity with passive and active functions available for every lifestyle—gym, yoga, steam room and sauna and the ultimate highlight, an infinity-edged semi-outdoor swimming pool. Residents can exercise and relax at the same time in the 47-metre saltwater pool, which offers breath-taking views of the river from on high. There is a separate kids pool that is clearly designed with the safety of small children in mind. Â
Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion is built on an area of 4-2-76.6 rai in the Charoenkrung district, now a highly sought-after location in a historically creative area of Bangkok. The site itself has easy access to the city’s Sathorn central business district. It is also close to educational institutions and only 100 metres from Shrewsbury International School.Â
In addition to the carefully laid-out landscape and air purifying tree boundary, AP reaffirms its leadership in innovation for quality sustainable living by ensuring that Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion will be a model development that offers the ultimate clean urban lifestyle.
AP recently worked with a team of expert clean air system designers to introduce Japan’s world-class Intelligent Indoor Quality Air for Life System. ERV devices have been fitted in all of the project’s indoor common areas to ensure that the air circulating around Rhythm Charoenkrung Pavillion is purified with PM 2.5 dust particles removed. This innovation means that life here is lived as close to nature as possible.     Â
