La Femme International Women’s Art Exhibition is bringing together 8 female artists from 7 different countries for the first time to Bangkok. The artworks showcased in the exhibition examine the challenges and issues faced by women from different cultures, while celebrating their similarities and power. Four of the exhibiting artists will be joined by special guest speaker Mme. Lucia Costantini Prügel, President of SHOM (Spouses of Heads of Mission) and wife to the Ambassador of Germany, at the opening reception on Mar. 8.

Together For Women's Day

As part of the many events featured during HeForShe ARTS WEEK Bangkok, Together For Women’s Day, hosted by the female-led e-commerce website ORAMI Thailand, is a local effort to rally support behind the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign by charities, celebrities, and companies.

Along with a ceremony to honour Thai public figures who made significant contributions to the gender equality cause, there will be a panel discussion with #HeForShe advocates – ORAMI’s founder Shannon Kalayanamitr, Hugo Julajak, and Pimpaka Siangsomboon to name a few. Other activities include free educational and artistic workshops and outdoor festivities live performances and healthy food stalls.  #KeepRising Fundraiser Campaign

Wedu, an organisation and community dedicated to the enhancement of women’s leadership and education opportunities, is hosting its first-ever multi-city meet-up to celebrate International Women’s Day and the launch of their crowd-funding campaign #KeepRising.

#KeepRising is aimed to help fund scholarships for 318 young women from underprivileged background across Asia that the organisation currently supports. Joining other host cities including Tokyo, Washington D.C., and New Delhi, the Bangkok event will be held at Broccoli Revolution. There’s a 500 THB entry fee, which will also be part of the proceeds going directly to the scholarships. Free flow wine, beer, juice and vegan tapas will be served from 7pm – 9pm.
