With Thai Mother’s Day ringing in, it’s a good time to take a minute and appreciate our mothers and all that they have done. As we go about our hectic metropolitan lives, it’s often easy for family to take a backseat as we push back dinners at home to fit in client meetings or an extra hour at work. Yet for many of us, it's the motherly wisdom passed over the dining table that has helped shape us into who we are today. As the nation gets ready to celebrate the most important women in our lives this weekend, we’ve gathered a couple of our favourite new Tatler mums joining the fray. Happy Mother’s Day!
Project manager at Thai haute-couture label Atelier Pichita, Tatim Rucksajit proves that you can be a mother and also be stylish, chic and have a high-flying career. Daughter of Atelier Pichita’s founder Pichitra Boonyarataphan, Tatim recently became a mother herself with baby Leon, a name she jokingly reminds us is pronounced “Ler-On” and not “Lee-On” in a playful hashtag she uses to document her memories with her baby boy. As we follow the family’s adventures from beach getaways to escapes in Paris, we can’t help but be envious of Tatim with her gorgeous laid-back cool and the endearingly chubby boy in her arms.
Founder of The Hype Project agency Tanggua Krairiksh is so fit and active you’d be surprised to find out she’s actually a mother. While we're well aware that her impressive figure comes from her passion for spin-classes—as she's a co-founder of indoor cycling venue Ryde—most of what you'll see on her IG are sweet mother-daughter snaps with baby Ava. Playful, cheeky and a pro at funny-faces, it’s hard not to fall smitten with Ava and her mum!
To say Alisa Phanthusak leads a busy life is an understatement. Not only is she managing director of Woodland’s Hotel and Resort, as well as world-renowned Tiffany’s Show Pattaya, she also owns La Baguette tea room at The EmQuartier. And on top of it all, this #ladyboss has recently become a mum! Despite her ultra-hectic schedule, she isn't planning on letting anything get in the way of being an attentive mother to baby Paul.
Namtip Thaugsuban’s profile is not to be overlooked. The daughter of politician Suthep, she has degrees in architecture from Pratt and Columbia and is currently director of the Pacific City Club. Often spotted at the most exclusive events, the stylish socialite recently welcomed adorable baby girl Anya into her family. Barely a few months old, Anya has already become somewhat of a star in her own right, having been featured in magazines and even accompanying her mother to the grand opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui.
Another name to congratulate is Kem Teerapa Promphan, step-daughter of politician Suthep. It seems only recently that we celebrated her royally sponsored wedding to Suraparp Limatibul, but now the couple have an adorable baby girl. An avid photographer, Kem uses her skills to document her daughter’s life, attracting keen followers like yours truly. A happy baby, Kem’s daughter is already much loved by friends and family alike, as shown in snapshots of her enjoying herself with mum’s many socialite friends.
