It has been a year since the passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and although the people of Thailand have had time to reflect on his loss, the absence of his benevolent presence continues to weigh heavily on the national conscience. His late Majesty’s parting will be felt all the more acutely this month as we bid a final farewell to a revered father figure during the royal cremation ceremony. However, comfort for a grieving nation is evident all around us in the many initiatives inspired by a monarch whose cherished memory will live long in the hearts of a grateful people.
