Decluttering can be a therapeutic, fun and very much needed activity in our lives every now and then. But do you sometimes run into the problem of not knowing where to deposit all your no-longer-needed but still-in-good-condition belongings?
If you're not going to gift them to anyone in particular, then how about donate them to a charity sale and support cancer research. The Clutter Sale is an annual event gathering vintage lovers, bargain hunters and people looking for a place to give away some preloved goods, to collectively raise funds for a good cause. Organised by a group called "NewsMakers", which comprises media and communications veterans (including Thailand Tatler's own Naphalai Areesorn) and other prominent figures in society, this yearly charitable event is now in its 12th edition.
This year's Clutter Sale is taking place at the Grand Ballroom of the Anantara Siam Bangkok hotel on Saturday, March 31, with Chulalongkron Hospital's Genetic Cancer Research Centre (a Thai Red Cross supported faculty) as this year's beneficiary.
There are several ways you can join in on Clutter Sale fun. You can of course be a shopper; just show up at the Grand Ballroom on the date ready to spend on anything from fashion and jewellery to household items. For a mere minimum donation of 50 baht each, Clutter Sale shoppers also stand a chance to win fabulous prizes like air tickets, 5-star restaurant vouchers, wines, beauty products and many more exciting things.
