If you have thought of bringing the resort-style luxury into your home, why not look to this warm and cosy abode for decor inspiration.

Inspired by the homeowners’ staycation at Capella Singapore, this two-storey home was well received by readers of the April 2016 issue of Singapore Tatler Homes. It’s also the Best Luxury Concept awardee for A Celebration Of Design — an evening event on February 28 to be held at Foo'd by David Oldani, which will celebrate the most innovative work in the local design scene.

A project by architect Joseph Lee of Bhatch Architects and designed by Kelvin Gan, formerly chief designer of Elements ID Consultants, the home unites its idyllic residential surroundings with interior spaces that accommodate all the comforts of a well appointed luxury resort retreat.

Combining contemporary design with homely touches, the tranquil, light-filled spaces here are flexible and can accommodate different social events, from small gatherings to large parties.

The open floor plan and soothing material palette replicates the unmistakable feel of a luxury getaway, yet every room is a warm, personalised sanctuary, with cosy nooks that are perfect for reading and relaxation.

Open Plan Living
Demolishing the existing house at Wimborne Road allowed the Goh family to re-build a two-storey home with an attic that is tailored to their lifestyle and needs. As seen here, the open design of the main living space combines both the formal and casual living halls.

Earthy Tones
A neutral palette helps to evoke a neat and clean feel throughout the home; the red cabinetry of the dry kitchen adds a chic contrast against the muted hues. Gan also chose to break away from the predominantly rectilinear layout with a round dining table that's echoed by a round Veillux pendant light from Ovas above.

Dining In Style
The indoor dining extends out to a pool deck, which is a great spillover space for larger parties or for the family to dine alfresco on cool evenings.

Poolside Views
The lap pool running along one side of the home adds to the resort-style feel of this home.  “Our favourite space is the entire first storey because it is very spacious and relaxing, especially in the evenings,” says the homeowner.  “We also spend a lot of time together, chatting and watching television in the family hall.”

Lush Baths
The marble-clad design of the spacious bathroom, which comes fitted with blinds that help to open up the bathroom space when it's not in use.

The Suite Life
The master bedroom is actually more like a suite comprising bedroom, bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, TV lounge and study. An Eames lounge chair beside the master bed makes a good reading spot, while the TV lounge lets the couple enjoy their favourite programmes in the privacy of their room.

Green Sanctuary
The attic level feels like the family’s private sanctuary. A family area opens out onto an outdoor terrace where they can cook up a barbeque while enjoying a view of the surrounding neighbourhood.

A Celebration Of Design will be held on February 28 at Foo'd by David Oldani.
