Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit

It’s hard to find someone in Bangkok who hasn’t seen his film, Freelance (2015). An offbeat rom-com that matches the director’s nuanced demeanour, the movie's commercial success is perhaps more astounding than its seven-award sweep at the Thailand National Film Association Awards. If that’s not proof that Nawapol is a game changer in his field, we don’t know what is. Even prior to Freelance, Nawapol had cinematic successes with the GTH hit Top Secret (2011) and his debut feature film 36 (2012), which won an award at the Busan International Film Festival. Last year he organised his first solo photographic screenwriting exhibition, I Write You A Lot.

Definition of success: Sleeping without worries at night.
