Chai Siris is a multi-media artist who began his career working with Bangkok’s homeless. Often dealing with the subjects of border conflict, reconstruction of personal and social history, gender, life and death, his work has been shown at institutions including the Venice International Film Festival and Documenta 13. He has also worked with Apichatpong Weerasethakul at the independent film company, Kick the Machine Films. After his upcoming exhibition at Cartel Artspace, he aims to focus on his own spirituality and is planning to write a new screenplay and novel. “I’ve been through the highest points of fame and i’ve seen how empty it all is. My goal now is to focus on creating meaningful and beautiful work.”
