One of the highlights of the recent IIFA Awards (India International Film Academy Awards)—which was prestigiously celebrated in Bangkok this year for the second time in its 18-year history—was the walk down the green carpet by Mumbai’s gorgeous movie stars.
The green carpet was the IIFA’s unique way of showing their commitment towards saving the environment. This time, IIFA teamed up with the UN to show their concern for plastic pollution, through lovely Mumbai actress Dia Mirza, designated Goodwill Ambassador of the UN. She posed glamorously on the carpet and even mouthed the anti-plastic slogan, "if you can’t re-use, don’t use."
Meanwhile, there were many other gorgeous looking, superbly talented and sartorially splendid actors and actresses on the green carpet that night, and we have them here. Get to know who's happening in Bollywood below.
Awarded "IIFA Style Icon of the Year", this popular new actress dazzled with various eye-catching outfits during the three-day event. However, her most striking was a shimmery silver off-the-shoulder ball gown by Mark Bumgarner, worn on awards night. She teamed this gorgeous gown with large hoop earrings and statement rings.
Following close behind, actress Shraddha Kapoor sizzled on the green carpet in a soft pink gown designed by well-known Indian designer Reem Acra. The highlights of this look was the plunging neckine, soft makeup and less-is-more accessorising. On the previous day, this talented actress wore an equally stunning midnight blue dress with sequined stars and moon motifs by celebrity Indian stylist Tanya Ghavri.
Another Mumbai star who ruled the carpet was Uravshi Rautela. The actress wore an outstanding gold and white embroidery-studded number with an exquisite mermaid-like design by top Indian designer Archana Kochhar.
As mentioned, this actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador wore a strappy, embellished dress designed by noted Indian designer Kresha Bajaj Zaveri. Deep purple lips, soft waves and matching heels completed her ‘wow’ look.
New actress Nushrat Bharucha donned a daring nude look in a sheery embroidered gown, paired with neutral makeup and neat bun to offset the oomph.
This Rumanian singer, whose song in the hit Bollywood film Race 3 has made her a star in industry, dazzled in an orange silk gown, styled by Indian designer Manisha Jai Singh, and a diamond necklace by Thailand’s Ajooma company.
Among the male stars, young superstar Ranbir Kapoor from India’s best-known Kapoor film-family lit up the green carpet with an immaculate three-piece Tom Ford suit. In a cheeky, individualistic note, he offset the deep color of his suit with tints of purple.
Top Mumbai producer and director Karan Johar wore a striking black and gold Dolce & Gabbana suit on the big night. However, on the previous day he went for bold in a bright pink jacket, big bowtie and shiny accent brooch.
This Mumbai actor wore a unique ornate Baroque-style purple blazer with a white shirt and black pants.
