ICONSIAM, a future mixed-use development on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, recently unveiled its SookSiam retail concept of co-creation focused on authentic cultural products. By providing a platform for over 3000 local Thai businesses and craftsmen from upcountry to showcase their craft, the project reinforces ICONSIAM’s commitment to boosting Thailand and the charms of Thai craftsmanship onto the international stage.

The announcement of SookSiam was held at Parc Paragon and featured  a 360-degree laser LED Dome Projection that granted viewers the opportunity to experience for the first time ever 8K technology, which is four times better than IMAX projections. The event was presided over by General Aupong Paochinda and the Minister of Interior and saw many prestigious dignitaries in attendences—such as Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Police General Adul Saengsingkaew and M.L. Anuporn Kashemsant. With over 70 outlets comprised of local food, handicraft, culture and art pieces from artisans throughout the country, the venue was full of energy and life. Once SookSiam materialises and becomes open to the public, visitors can expect a place that presents the cultural heritage of Thailand’s four main geographic regions through art, handicraft, performance and local traditions.
