THAILAND TATLER X HONDA MOTORCYCLE
Early on in 2018, A.P. Honda Co., Ltd. introduced its all new Forza, a big scooter model that pushes the brand’s own boundaries in agility, technology and luxury. To prove the new Forza’s prestige and performance, A.P. Honda invited Thailand Tatler on a “Great Prestige Experience Trip” to get personally acquainted with the luxury scooter over two days and one night of relaxation and adventure in Hua Hin.
We arrived in Hua Hin at noon on the first day of the trip, enjoying a lunch of modern French and fusion cuisine at Suzette restaurant to rev us up for the ride later that evening. Honda Motorcycle had us accommodated at the Baba Beach Club Hua Hin, a boutique luxury hotel by the famed six-star Phuket beach resort Sri Panwa, fitting us with Baba beachfront pool suite, which overlooks the beach and comes with a private pool and spacious patio.
The room itself was the epitome of modern luxury, not just boasting plush decor but convenience as well. Baba guests are hooked up with a Nespresso machine and Bose bluetooth speakers with an iPod. On top of a hotel’s usual complimentary amenities, Honda Motorcycle even threw in some premium Japanese facial wipes and French mineral water spray in consideration for the riding activity ahead.
After settling in, we were briefed by A.P. Honda’s vice president Alaksh Phornprapha on some of the key and exciting features of the new Forza, such as first-ever electric windshield, as well as the route we were going to take to the beach. Then it was time to ride.
Helmets on, we rode the Forzas in a motorcade 50 kilometres to the scenic Paknampran Beach Park and then back and forth along the beachwalk to enjoy the slowly setting sun. While this seemed to be the highlight of the riding experience, the hour-long night ride back to the hotel in the dark, catching the occasional glimpse of Hua Hin nightlife, was both an unexpected thrill and sense of tranquility. It also made clear the genuine comforts of the All New Forza model.
To end the fun-filled day of riding, a sit-down dinner was prepared out on the spacious lawn of the Baba’s gourmet Baan Chok restaurant, with an auspicious full moon in the background. Long white-clothed tables were set up under strings of light, creating the atmosphere for a cosy beach garden party. As we dined on a five-course meal specially prepared to our preferences and enjoyed the free flow of our choice of wine or beer, a jazz band plus The Voice Thailand’s Wanlika Kedsavapitak (Tangmo) and Nuttcha Jittanon (Fangkao) kept us entertained with soulful live performances throughout the night.
Towards the end of the meal, Honda Motorcycle presented us with special customised keepsakes for the Great Prestige Experience, and we retired as we pleased as there would be enough time the next morning to take it slow and take the Forza out for one last ride before returning to Bangkok.
