The River City Bangkok is hosting a 10-hour long music marathon this July 26, to commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, two days before official celebrations commence. Titled ‘10 for X’, the music marathon will feature the talented Russian pianist Ivan Sharapov, who will start playing from 10am until 8pm.

His Majesty’s father, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, remains in the hearts of Thai people as a great and benevolent King as well as a gifted musician. His moving compositions continue to be appreciated and unite the Thai people through music. Guests at ‘10 for X’ can expect to hear renditions of these pieces, along with compositions by other great composers recognised across the globe, such as Sergei Rachmaninoff, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Frederic Chopin and Johannes Brahms. For those who aren’t especially interested in the classics, don’t worry—Ivan Sharapov will be changing his repertoire every hour so there’s something for everyone to enjoy, including famous pop-music staples.

Many in Thailand will remember the phenomenal Ivan Sharapov for his first musical marathon last year, a non-stop nine-hour performance dedicated to the first anniversary of the passing away of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. His return for another marathon concert strikes a profound note as he makes his comeback, this time to celebrate the birth of Thailand’s tenth King and, in many ways, new beginnings for the nation.

10 for X will take place on the 1st floor of the River City Bangkok from 10am onwards, where guests are welcome to enjoy beautiful tunes played by Ivan Sharapov, a special birthday present to His Majesty from all Russians residing in Thailand. For more information, visit
