Months after the passing of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand still grieves. Diverse expressions of affection and gratitude have sprung up across the country and Central Embassy has joined in on paying tribute through the world of art.
As part of The ‘King of Our Hearts’ exhibition, a rotating installation located on the ground floor of Central Embassy, visitors can now enjoy ‘The King of People’s Heart’, a showcase of 99 fascinating royal portraits of His Majesty. The collection showcases His Majesty’s portrait reimagined through the eyes of 99 local and international artists with varied techniques and styles. Above are some of our top picks from the exhibition.
Some of you may wish to leave a message for His Majesty or share your resolutions for the New Year and how you aspire to follow in his footsteps. You may do so on a magnificent 7-metres Father’s Tree, which stands at the center of the exhibition. 99,999 resolution leaves collected will subsequently be turned into 9 temple bells and donated to the Rama IX Golden Jubilee Temple.
For those who wish to take the paintings home with them, a printed book of these illustrious art works is also available for sale. Proceeds will go to the Chaipattana Foundation. The exhibition is open to all daily from 10am-10pm until January 31. For more information, call 0-2119-7777.
